 Other Resources
  • Prezi: a web-based, non-linear presentation software. It is FREE! It is also stored on the internet, so students can't lose it. Essentially, it is just an updated version of PowerPoint. One cool trick, however, is group collaboration. Students can work with others on a project without being in the same location. So, collaboration just got easier!
  • Screenr: a FREE software that allows you to film your computer. Want to teach students how to use PowerPoint? Make Screenr that teaches them the steps. Want to teach Movie-Maker? Use Screenr to show them how. It will record your computer screen and voice, allowing you to teach students how to use technology.
  • iLearn Technology: a great blog about utilizing technology in the classroom.
  • Edmodo: a social-networking site for EDUCATION! Teachers can post assignments, host discussions, etc. on Edmodo.
  •  TodaysMeet: a FREE online question/answer website. Students can ask questions and make comments in live time as you are teaching. Think of it as a digital "parking lot" for questions. This, however, requires all students to have technology in front of them...smart phones, iPads, netbooks, etc. (But imagine the possibilities...)
  • Poll Everywhere: a FREE cellphone/web survey. You can see live results on your powerpoint presentations. Students can text responses, enter them via the web, or even use Twitter.
